This is a case study that explores the unimaginable death of a five year old child at the hands on his mother’s boyfriend and how she failed to protect him and allowed it to happen. The study will focus on the start of the investigation to the end of trial with law enforcement and the District Attorney’s office working hand in hand. SH was a vibrant sweet 5 year old boy with his whole life ahead of him. Through an in depth investigation, it was discovered that SH had been abused for months on end and had multiple traumatic brain injuries at different times. The case will explore the prosecution of both defendants.
