This presentation addresses the broader spectrum of clergy sexual abuse and sexually abusive misconduct investigations. It extends beyond the traditional definitions of sexual assault and battery without consent to encompass both physical and non-physical conduct. Such behavior includes acts that a person endures, submits to, participates in, or performs due to deception, manipulation, coercion, grooming (of children and adults), and/or intimidation by another individual. The workshop will also address victim characteristics and behaviors that make children more vulnerable. This training will identify the problem of child molestation and provide investigators with insights into what these children experience. Understanding these experiences can aid in better comprehending the crime, leading to more effective investigations, arrests, and prosecutions of the perpetrators. Additionally, the presentation will cover essential strategies for investigating suspects and crime scenes, equipping investigators with the necessary tools for successful prosecution.
