Jim Sears was a law enforcement officer for over 35 years working with the Irving Police Department in TX, retiring as a Sergeant. He served as a Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, and as Detective in the Youth Services Unit, Domestic Violence Unit, and Child Abuse Unit. Jim is a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement instructor specializing in Domestic Violence and Child Abuse. Sergeant Sears was the 2011 recipient of the Lt. Bill Walsh Award for the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center for career achievements in the field of Child Abuse Investigations. Jim has recently taken a position with the North Central Council of Governors Regional Police Academy as a coordinator and is helping to shape and mold the new police officers coming into the field.
