Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Crimes Against Children Division

Blake Penfield started as an assistant district attorney with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office in 2013. While working as a Dallas County prosecutor Blake has held several positions in the office, starting as a misdemeanor prosecutor and graduating to prosecuting murders, manslaughters, aggravated robberies, and other violent offenses. Blake was then assigned to the Sexual Assault Division where he prosecuted hundreds of sexual assaults of adults. Next, he was assigned as the chief prosecutor in the 282nd Judicial District Court, the chief prosecutor of the 363rd Judicial District Court, and then as a Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Crimes Against Children Division. While in the Crimes Against Children Division he prosecuted hundreds of child sex abuse cases and child homicides and helped supervise a team of twelve prosecutors along with several investigators and victim advocates. Blake is currently assigned as a Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Misdemeanor Division of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office where he helps supervise over 30 attorneys and 12 legal assistants. Blake’s job duties include training young prosecutors and training partner law enforcement agencies within Dallas County regarding Texas criminal law and prosecution.
