Roy Basham is a Special Agent with the Texas Department of Public Safety and has been employed by them for over 24 years. He is assigned to the DPS CID ISS Polygraph Unit. He graduated from Texas DPS Polygraph school and routinely conducts criminal polygraph examinations, earning criminal confessions from suspects on an array of crimes against children. He has instructed trainings across Texas and the United States on various aspects of polygraph examinations and interview / interrogation. He has testified in State and Federal Court proceedings involving information obtained using polygraph. He was awarded the TALEPI Examiner of the Year award and the Lubbock Metropolitan Rotary Unsung Hero award in 2023; and the Northern District of Texas U.S. Attorney’s Award of Excellence three times.
