Division Director - State-Operated Specialty Care

Cory Turner serves as the State-Operated Specialty Care Division Director for the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In this role, he oversees all state-operated facilities in Iowa, including a state psychiatric hospital and the Civil Commitment Unit for Sexual Offenders (CCUSO), where he also continues to serve as the Institutional Superintendent. Turner holds a Master's degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Justice Studies, and a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies, both from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. Before his tenure in Iowa, he directed the Kansas Sexual Predator Treatment Program and the Kansas Psychiatric Services Program. With almost 25 years of experience, Turner resides in Cherokee, Iowa, with his wife of 23 years, Randi and son, Hayden.
