David Vucich serves as Deputy Chief over Violent Crimes and Organized retail crime for the Illinois Attorney General. He investigates public corruption, cold-case homicides and child exploitation cases. He was hired as a Deputy Sheriff with the Madison County Illinois Sheriff's Office in 1997 and was transferred to the Detective Division in October 2002. He investigated crimes such as homicides, thefts, robberies, etc. and became specialized in computer related crimes. In August 2005, he headed the first regional digital forensic lab while also keeping the public informed of high-tech dangers. He remained in the division until promoted to the supervisory rank of Captain in April of 2019 and retired from that in May 2022.
