Special Prosecution Unit
Maureen Whittmore is a senior attorney with the Sexually Violent Predator Division of the Texas Special Prosecution Unit. Her division pursues the civil commitment of repeat sexually violent offenders being released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice who are found to be likely to sexually reoffend. She has been with the Texas Special Prosecution Unit for the past 12 years and has tried countless jury trials during that time in an effort to protect the community from future acts of sexual violence. She graduated from Westfield State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and from Washburn University School of Law with a Juris Doctor.
