This presentation is an introduction to the formulas needed to develop the mindset and mental resilience needed to deal with the rigors of working with violent crimes against children. It will focus on the importance of developing the ability to adapt in high pressure scenarios and how to build a strong team ethos among teammates. The presenter will discuss the role that violence plays with law enforcement and perpetrators and the importance of understanding its use by both. This presentation will help develop an understanding about the professional administration of violence as a baseline element of LEO. While perpetrators use violence as a way to inflict their will on others, LEO must also use violence or the threat of violence as a form of gaining control. To gain resilience in the face of violence, both sides must be addressed and have protocols for being dealt with. We will discuss specific methods taught to the nation’s top operators on building protocols to filter who and what they do at work vs. who they are and what they do off the job.
